Dennis M. Gerald was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 22, 1961 and subsequently moved to South Carolina with his family in 1973. Mr. Gerald graduated from Columbia High School and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Gerald furthered his education by attending the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1988.

In addition to his formal education, Mr. Gerald constantly seeks to enhance his personal and professional life by participating in many professional, civic and community organizations. Mr. Gerald is an active member of Bibleway Church of Atlas Road, Phi Beta Sigma, Fraternity, Inc., South Carolina Council on Adoptable Children, National Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, Richland County Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association and the Columbia Lawyers Association.
